RTV-2 liquid silicone raw material will thicken over time. Typically, at room temperature storage, tin-cured silicone thickens by about 1000-2000 cps per month and has a shelf life of at least 12 months. Platinum-cured translucent silicone thickens by about 500 cps per month and has a shelf life of at least 24 months. Clear silicone thickens by about 1000-2000 cps per month and has a shelf life of at least 12 months. Exceeding the shelf life does not mean that it cannot be used.

Extreme temperatures during shipping do not affect the quality of our silicone. Our silicone products are non-flammable and very stable. They require no special shipping considerations.

Since rtv-2 silicone is a viscous liquid, air bubbles will be generated when mixing and stirring, vacuum degassing with a vacuum pump is recommended. If you use low-viscosity self-degassing silicone or the brushing process can be measured according to individual requirements. In addition, if you want to cast polyurethane resin, you need to be equipped with pressure cylinder equipment. For other tools, please refer to the table of silicone mold-making tools and prepare as appropriate.
