• 1. Project Review

  Step 1: Project Review

  Submit your existing sculpture, 3D model, or design information for an initial feasibility review and quote.

  3D Files: STL and STP/STEP are preferred. Other common formats, including OBJ, PLY, 3MF, IGS/IGES, DAE, and WRL, can also be reviewed.

  Photos & Dimensions: For an existing sculpture, provide front, rear, and side photos, close-ups of important details, and overall height, width, and depth where possible.

  Project Requirements: Specify the casting material, expected number of reproductions, desired surface finish, and any concerns about the original piece.

  Sketches & Drawings: Detailed sketches with dimensions can also serve as a starting point when a 3D model is unavailable.

• 2. Parting Strategy

  Plan mold structure, parting lines, and support.

  Step 2: Parting Strategy & Mold Design

  The sculpture's geometry, undercuts, and delicate details determine the parting strategy and mold structure for practical demolding.

  Mold Structure: Choose an appropriate configuration, such as a one-piece, two-part, or segmented mold. For suitable sculptures, a brush-on blanket mold may also be used.

  Parting & Casting: Plan section joints and, where applicable, pouring and venting points according to the mold design and casting method.

  Support Requirements: Determine whether a rigid support shell is needed to maintain the mold's shape during handling and casting.

• 3. Mold Making

  Produce custom silicone molds to the agreed design.

  Step 3: Silicone Mold Making

  Master Preparation: When a new master pattern is required, it can be produced using 3D printing or CNC machining, depending on the project.

  Silicone Application: RTV-2 silicone is applied according to the selected mold-making method. For brush-on molds, multiple layers are typically built up, often around three to four depending on the mold design and silicone system. For pour molds, silicone is poured into the prepared mold setup.

  Registration & Keying: Registration keys may be incorporated into the silicone mold to help align mold sections and, where appropriate, the support shell.

  Support Shells: For larger or more flexible molds, a rigid outer shell made from materials such as fiberglass or resin can help maintain the intended shape during handling and casting.

• 4. Inspection & Delivery

  Inspect finished molds and prepare for delivery.

  Step 4: Inspection & Delivery

  Quality Inspection: Check the finished mold's surface condition, dimensional accuracy where applicable, part alignment, and overall workmanship against the agreed requirements.

  Packaging & Logistics: Molds are securely packed with suitable protective materials. Large molds are reinforced and secured on wooden frames or pallets as needed, then shipped via reliable international freight services.
