I've been having failures after failures with gooie  silicon, and , yes , from 3d resin prints... and using vaseline... not mixing well enough because of running out of time, you just explained verything, sooo clearly, awesome!!! i'll cook the 3d prints harder, try the underwater cure, and maybe try dish soap, acrylic clearcoat, or wax maybe? thank you, legend!!
    You are on exactly the right track. Acrylic clearcoat is excellent as a sealer to create a barrier. Dish soap is great for cleaning the print, but the clearcoat will do a better job sealing it.
