Hi Arron. I have a jar of Redbox blue silicone and a small bottle of Hardener.  I can't get it to set/mature.  I think this is mainly due to me not understanding the mixing ratio. Eg 100 A silicone/ 3  (B) Hardener.  HARDENER S CWRF 309GB. Perhaps I have incorrect Hardener  ?
There could be several reasons why the silicone isn't curing properly. 1. Mixing Ratio: Please double-check the ratio stated on the product label. 2. Matching Components: It's crucial to ensure that the Part A silicone and the Part B hardener are a matched set for that specific product model. 3. Expiration Date: Please also check to see if either of the components is past its expiration date. Since product specifications can differ significantly between brands, the best course of action is to contact the supplier you purchased from. They will be able to give you the most accurate information and confirm if you have the correct products.

Platinum-cure silicone has many advantages, including faster curing, longer life, and an easier mixing ratio (1A:1B). However, my experience is that it has issues with cure inhibition, not only related to sulfur but also to certain paints.
Yes, platinum-cure silicone is easily contaminated by substances such as acids, alkalis, and sulfur, resulting in poisoning and inability to cure.
