I started using oxygen and in 2 days my eyes and nose started itching like crazy and blisters formed in the corner of my eyes and my nose was worse with the swelling up inside with blistering a lot worse.  I called about the cannula tubing only to learn that the cannula is covered in silicone!  I never knew the possibility of my being allergic to it. Aside from not using that particular brand,  what can I do to stop the symptoms?  I have tried using nose drops and saline nose spray, which give relief, but every AM it starts.  I had to stop using the oxygen but am in the process of finding another brand without silicone,
Silicone comes in various types, and for respiratory purposes, it's advisable to choose medical-grade silicone. It's recommended to purchase from reputable medical institutions. However, if you're confirmed allergic to silicone, please avoid using products containing silicone materials.
